For 's contest, at long last! :D

Don't ask about the title. I'm listening to Pepper as I'm typing this, and that line seemed fitting. =P

So yes, ~Alkaline-Lady's Kabuki as a gargoyle. She's lying on a futon in a traditional Japanese room, complete with tatami mats, zabuton (cushions), and fusuma (closet-y thing) with "Great Wave off of Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai painted on it. Because I'm a massive dork and a sucker for tiny details like that. She's playing hanafuda, which are those little cards there. I wonder who she's playing with, though? ;) What else needs explaining? Ah, those are mochi and manju on the tray on the table. If you have no idea what mochi and manju are, you're missing out on quite possibly the most delicious things out there. Or not. Depends on your opinion of sweet bean and rice. Anyway, and that's a sake set there, but if sake isn't on the menu then we'll just imagine it full of...strawberry lemonade. =P (Also, there's a little joke there on the sake container, if you can read kanji. :P) I tried to put her in a short yukata based on my own (black with gold fans) but I drew her wings too far down for the obi to work properly. And that was going to be like mine too, red with little usagi (bunnies) on it. Meh. So instead I put her in something very similar to our performing hapi coats for taiko. And I'm probably throwing all these words out and no one knows what I'm talking about. Just in case, a quick glossary at the end of all this. Anyway, I finished coloring it today, just in time for the deadline. Woog.

Yukata = summer kimono. Cotton, so it's light, and only one layer. Often worn these days for Obon. (Summer celebration for the dead, to sum it up in a horribly un-explanatory sentence.)
Obi = the thing that you tie your kimono, yukata, or hapi with
Hapi coat = Think of it as a short yukata, though the sleeves can be long, short, or nonexistant. You tie it with an obi like the one I've drawn her in.
Taiko = Japanese drums, though taiko means 'drum' so when people say we're the taiko drummers, they're repeating themselves. Anyway, taiko is kickass, and the drums are big and awesomely loud. :XD:

Hope you like it, Alkaline-Lady! :aww:
